Friday 1st October till Sunday 3rd October
About Boots and All
This men's residential psychodrama weekend will consist of a number of group
sessions with plenty of time for fun. Come along prepared to participate fully
and to engage with yourself and others. Through using the psychodrama method,
you can begin to understand what the underlying issues are in a situation or

to achieve your goals. 'Learn 'to be useful, to be responsible, to be
compassionate, to matter, to count, to stand for something, to make some
difference' (Leo Rosten).
About Psychodrama
Psychodrama is a tool for professional and personal growth. In psychodrama the
drama of life is enacted, as both a rehearsal and a preparation for living the
kind of life you want to live. Experiencing psychodrama offers possibilities
for change and human evolution, for individuals, groups and society. Men at all
levels of experience of psychodrama will benefit from participation in this
workshop. You don't have to have any experience of psychodrama to benefit.
Psychodrama is a creative, action-oriented, process through which we can go
beyond problem-solving, beyond personal insight, to profoundly understand the
complexities of our life, because it is based upon the essential truth that we
are part of an inter-connected tapestry of many lives.
Psychodrama is a form of group work that integrates imagination and
action, and a philosophy that can greatly enhance a person's ability to manage
or bring about desired change.

Dear Colleagues, John Barton is returning to Dunedin to run a two day workshop on working with small figures in counseling and therapy. Day 1 of "A Practical introduction to Working with Small Figures" will be on Thursday 8th October, and Day 2 on Friday 9th. I will be working with John to run the first workshop. Working with small figures is a powerful and effective method of working with adults, adolescent and children. Creativity is stimulated and clients can quickly gain new perspectives on themselves and their lives. John has run these workshops in many parts of Australia and New Zealand, as well as the US, Europe and Singapore. More information about the techniques, and about John himself, can be found on his website, http://www.smallfigures.net . I am attaching a flyer with more information, including how to enrol. It is recommended you attend Day 1 in order to get optimum benefit from Day 2. People who have already attended an "Introduction to Small Figures" workshop with John (Day 1) are welcome to attend Day 2 only, although in my experience attending a second "Introduction" is not a bad thing: the experiential nature of the workshops means that they are never the same twice. Please contact John at the email address on the flyer, for more information and to register. You can contact me (Judy) at <email obscured> Please do forward this flyer and email to anyone you think might be interested in the workshops. The workshops and discussions are always more robust and interesting with a good number of people attending. Kind regards, Judy Broom

Action at Work 2009 This one day professional development event is a unique opportunity for professional revitalisation, stimulation and connection. We will model the use of Strategic Action Methods as developed by J.L. Moreno, to explore issues relevant to your professional life and work. There will be two streams running concurrently: A. Leadership in Times of Change - Annie Currie & Colin Elliott Effective leadership is about the release of human possibilities. It is about creating an inspiring vision, freeing ourselves of self imposed limits, relating to each other authentically, and manifesting meaningful outcomes. We invite you to challenge self defeating beliefs and behaviours, open new doorways, and vitalise your life and work. Come prepared to encounter new possibilities ! You are more than you perceive yourself to be, and others are more than who you perceive them to be. or B. Psychotherapy and Psychodrama - Sara Crane & Jenny Wilson Psychodrama offers the clinician a means to enable clients to visually and actively explore situations and come to new realisations about themselves and their impact on others. The method has the power to integrate feeling, thinking and action, it is a vehicle for emotionally charged insight, new role development and hence change. In this workshop participants can expect to come to grips with some of the possibilities and limitations of psychodrama. This workshop will focus on dilemmas of transference and promoting empathy through role reversal. There will be a combination of theoretical background and experiential learning. The two groups will come together at times during the day for refreshments, conversation and connection. Workshop details: Wednesday 7 October 2009, 9.00am-4.30pm.
